For all of our friends, at 11:45 AM on Wednesday August 26th, Melinda DuClos of the Jag and Mel Rock n Rant show has passed away. She was an instrument of God for years as an ER nurse and I am sure she is being rewarded with her place in heaven.
I received this from Wayne today please keep him and both the families in your thoughts and prayers through this time of loss. She will be missed and was loved...

Today is the saddest day for stfu and all our family. Our hearts go out to Jag at this sad time. One can only imagine what it is like to loose someone so close. Mel was an awesome dj, very real person and I am proud to have know her as a friend, albeit for a very short time. I can imagine her now up there ranting at the man about all the F'd up things in this world. Go get him Mel!!!!! Pete.

Mel will be missed. It was she and Jag that got me started broadcasting again (on a compteting station that will remain nameless-lol). I may not have agreed with everything that she ranted about, but I respected her and her opinions. I know right now that she is givng the angels hell for the way heaven is set up, and you know what? I bet she will get it the way she wants it.

Thanks everyone. I will be ok. She was my wife, life mate but most importantly, my best friend. I consider myself lucky to have met someone like her. Right now I just have this huge hole in my heart and soul, but it will heal.
I want to throw a Mel party on air and in the chat room. I would like to do this on Saturday, September 5th during our regular time slot, 7-11 PST. It will mark my first show after this and it will be a celebration of her and her life. Please tell everyone to mark their calendar as I don't want to leave anyone out of this.
Start thinking of your favorite Mel stories, and even songs that you might think would best suit that story. Of course, as always, I reserve the right to tell you your request sucks, and replace it, but hey....I'll at least consider it.
Thanks again for the love and support. I really do appreciate it. I don't know how I would get through this without the love and support from our online friends.

Jag, our hearts are saddened by this news, but of course you probably already knew that. We are grateful to have known Mel, both on air and in person. She certainly knew how to get the attention of someone, or light up a room, or even parking lot #1 for that matter ....whatever needed to be done, she could and did do it. You are in our thoughts and prayers Wayne, and may god guide you through this most difficult time. We're sure that Mel will get things in order with the "big guy" in no time at all. I will remember Mel when and if I ever find another Victory Lane, and dedicate such to her memory, as she always made us smile when she spoke of my racing endeavors. We love you bro, but of course you hopefully already knew that as well. Godspeed Mel, Godspeed.... All our love, Duane & Tonya

I am at a loss as to what to say. Jag, my heart goes out to you. We lost a wonderful, vibrant, funny lady this week. I keep telling myself that Mel would not want us all to cry and be sad, but I feel overwhelming sadness at the loss of someone so beautiful, so young. Mel, I know you're reading this and want to say thank you for the laughs, for the thought-provoking rants, and most of all for being you.... wonderful you. Godspeed Sweetie, Godspeed

Wayne, please accept my condolences in the loss of Mel. Although I hadn't seen her often lately she was always thought of when I'd see her on my friends list in Pogo. We sure did have some good times! That will be what I remember.
I know she's up there burning up oven mitts and wooden sthingys, looking around for some firemen to call!
There's nothing anyone can say to make it better but I want you to know, in my experience with loss, time will help the hurt, even though her memory will always be there.
My prayers are with you. *hugs*

Mel will never be far from my heart. When my husband had his stroke last year, Mel was there for me more than friends I have offline. She was a very very special person and I will never forget her. She will be missed by everyone she knew. Jag, my heart goes out to you bro. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong.

Wayne, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Mel and I had our differences and I know that Mel will rest in her final resting place.

I am so very sorry Jag for your loss! I met Mel a few years back playing pogo around 3 a.m. We started to chat and I told her about our radio station, she had never heard of internet radio! I showed her how to tune in and introduced her to the chat room as well. She was instantly hooked and told me all about her husband who was a music lover and would so enjoy it and she would tune him in later that day. We all became instant friends and her and I both agreed Jag would make an awesome d.j. !! Back then Jag was still shy (lol) and it took some work to convince him of that. He reluctantly agreed to 1 maybe 2 days a week. He was great from day 1 and besides his 5-6 shows a week he started his weekly classic rock special. Mel was amazing working so hard bringing new listeners every day, working side by side with the man she loved so deeply. This began the Mel and Jag legacy! We had the pleasure of them coming to N.Y. for our 1st d.j. party and to finally meet 2 of the nicest most sincere people we have met here yet. I was so happy to see them enjoy, grow and expand here and share there time with so many new friends. Mel really enjoyed working with the stations they worked for but mostly the new fun her and Jag were having. They mad a great team at everything they did. She will be missed dearly by so much. My heart goes out to Wayne, her daughter and beautiful grandson. My deepest sympathy to them all. Hang in there jag , and hope to share the celebration of her life on Sept.5th. I will keep your family in my prayers and thaughts!

Wow...I've had so much going on I didn't realize there were so many new posts on this thread, but it doesn't surprise me in the least. Mel did touch a lot of people's lives and it has become very apparent by the amount of thoughts and prayers that I have been receiving. You guys are fantastic.
Duane, when you do that dedication, I hope you send me the checkered flag. If you want me to play Hot Rod Lincoln for you before the race for luck I will.
Karen, thank you for that post. You, and everybody else, is welcome to join the Melebration we are having tomorrow. I agree we should all put differences aside and remember all the great times that we've shared together with, and because of, the most sincere person I have and will probably ever meet. She was a one of a kind.
Everyone else I think I have spoken with directly and I don't want to leave anyone out of my thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. Let's have a party tomorrow! Mel would have wanted that way. And.........NO SAPPY SONGS! This is a Melebration after all!
